Privacy Policy

Rivercy ("we," "us," or "our") provides a lead-capture widget that home service businesses ("Clients") embed on their own websites. This policy explains what information is collected when a Client's customer ("you") submits a request through that widget, and how it's used.
What we collect
When you submit a request through a Rivercy widget, we collect the information you provide directly, which may include:
- Your name, phone number, and email address
- The type of service you're requesting and a description of the issue
- Your ZIP code and preferred callback time, if provided
- The web page the request was submitted from
We do not collect payment information through the widget, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18.
How we use it
Information submitted through the widget is used only to:
- Route your request to the Client you submitted it to
- Notify that Client of your request by email, and by text message too if it's flagged urgent (details below)
- Send you an automatic email confirmation that your request was received
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
SMS messaging — who actually receives a text. You, as the customer submitting a request, will never receive a text message from Rivercy — your confirmation arrives by email only. The Client you contacted is the sole recipient of SMS: as part of the Rivercy service they've signed up for, they receive a text alert whenever one of their customers (including you) submits a request flagged urgent, so they can respond quickly. This is an operational notification to the Client, not a marketing message, and the Client's consent to receive it is part of their Rivercy subscription agreement. Message frequency for the Client depends on how many urgent leads they receive. A Client can reply STOP to a Rivercy text at any time to opt out of SMS alerts (their urgent leads will then be delivered by email only), or reply HELP for assistance. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Who we share it with
Your information is shared only with the specific Client you submitted the request to, and with the service providers that power message delivery on our behalf — including Twilio (for the text alerts sent to Clients) and our email delivery provider. These providers are contractually limited to using your information only to deliver the message, not for their own purposes.
How long we keep it
Request information is retained for as long as the Client maintains an active account with Rivercy, so they can reference past requests. If a Client cancels their Rivercy subscription, their request data is retained for 90 days after cancellation — long enough to support reactivation or an export request — and is then permanently deleted, unless we're required to retain it longer for legal, tax, or accounting reasons.

Security
We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections and access-restricted infrastructure — to protect the information submitted through our widgets. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information to commercially reasonable standards.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
